WonderFULL Dresden at Christmas
Discover the Magic of Christmas in Saxony
If you’ve never taken a trip to one of Europe’s many Christmas markets, you can join me on a fantastic Christmas tour to the nearest German city of Dresden. Even though it is in another country, Dresden is less than a 2-hour car ride from Prague.
Dresden is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany, especially during Advent, where the streets and squares of the historic old town are transformed into an illuminated fairy tale.
On our private guided tour we will explore Dresden's Old Town in sparkling Christmas light and cover the history of this spectacular city that was rebuilt after WW2. Beside the classical highlights as Zwinger, Semper Opera, the Royal Palace, Brühl's Terrace, Frauenkirche and the world's longest mural painting we will visit the city's most beautiful Christmas markets and you will experience the festive Christmas spirit of Saxony.
As a must we will take a tour to one of Germany's oldest and most traditional Christmas market - the Striezelmarkt established in 1434. Regional specialties, such as Ore Mountain wood crafts, Lusatian blue-printed fabrics and Moravian stars, are particularly popular. Glittering lights, traditional German snacks such as bratwursts and mulled wine, the scent of gingerbread, the Dresden fruitcake now known as Stollen and Christmas carols make this once in a lifetime visit a pleasure for all the senses.
This year this historical market will be open from November 27th to 24th December, 2019.
After a walking tour of the city, you can visit either one of the world-class museums or have lunch at one of the authentic Saxon or Bavarian restaurants as it will perfectly fit in our standard tour time.
